The Seattle 2006 World Naked Bike Ride attracted this year more people than ever.

According to Wikipedia, "World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) is an international event in which participants plan, meet and ride together en masse on human-powered transport (the vast majority on bicycles, and fewer on skateboards, roller blades, roller skates) to "protest oil dependency and celebrate the power and individuality of our bodies". WNBR is a clothing-optional bike ride.

The dress code motto is "Bare As You Dare". Full and partial (especially topfree) nudity is encouraged, but not mandatory, on all rides. Requiring partial cover-up is strictly forbidden and is a distinguishing feature of WNBR versus other cycling events. Creative expression is also encouraged to create a fun and immersive atmosphere during the ride, to capture the attention and imagination of passers-by and the media, and to make the experience more personalized and fulfilling for the riders.

Body art (such as body painting) are common forms of creative expression, as well as costumes, art bikes, portable sound reinforcement systems (such as public address systems/bullhorns, and boomboxes), musical instruments as well as other types of noisemakers"

The Seattle 2006 ride started in Gas Works Park, considered by some to be "easily the strangest park in Seattle, and may rank among the strangest in the world". Leaving Gas Works Park shortly after noon, the riders arrived at Seattle Center International Fountain after 1:30, then left Seattle Center to begin second leg of ride via Harrison Capital Hill, Cal Anderson, Union St, Lake Washington Blvd, Madrona Park (beach visit, where they practiced naked yoga meditation - see some images below), Seward Parl, then back via Lake Washington Blvd, Washington State Park Arboretum, Montlake Bridge, UW Commencement, Burke Gilman Trail returning to Gas Works Park around 6 - 6:30 pm.

To quote Daniel Johnson, Seattle WNBR coordinator, "Its the most exhilarating cycling experience since taking off your training wheels".

Anyway, enough comments for now... back to our Seattle's Bike Ride, here are some images from this year's Parade.
